Borrowing Blue Things and Seafest
I recently finished reading Something Blue by Emily Giffin, and although it is definetly considered fluff reading, it was a decent book altogether. It tells a different side of a story, a sort of continuation from Something Borrowed by Giffin. If you’re into chick lit, I would recommend this book but otherwise if you’re looking for something to leave you feeling intellectually charged, this wont be the book for you.
I was a bit aggravated at Darcy Rhone’s character, she is the exact kind of girl that I avoid at all costs because I can’t identify with that type at all. Perfect hair, perfect teeth, perfect body, perfect friends and perfect image..but generally rotten on the inside. I thought her attitude was snotty and fake, and her shallow personality really reaked. But I’m glad that I didn’t let that ruin the read, and I continued on. It was decent, and I really liked how it ended.
While out shopping today, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to pick up Baby Proof by Emily Giffin or not because I have a few other books on deck for my next read. It’s between Sunday’s At Tiffany’s by James Patterson and a couple of Jennifer Weiner books. I have a tendency to buy a bunch of books and can barely wait to read them, and my pile grows quicker than I can get to them.
This weekend Josh and I are really enjoying some relaxation time. It was a busy week at work, so some much needed down time is in order. It’s the second week of Seafest, and tonight is the Parade of Lights and music on the waterfront until midnight. I’m not sure if we’ll attend, but it’s nice to entertain the idea that we might. Then again, holing up at home is also a wonderful idea to entertain.

I’m heading out to chapters today, even though I have at least 10 books I haven’t read yet
I’m a serial book buyer.
Baby Proof was good. Darcy kind of irritated me as well, but baby proof was pretty good, with tolerable characters. I think I had that same irritated feeling with the protagonist of The Undomestic Goddess. Love the One You’re With was also great, although I’m a big puss and it made me cry at the end. It could have just been that time of the month, who knows.
Today I’m hoping to buy Rex and the City, and possibly one of my psych texts.
We should start a book club. I could definitely use some sort of distraction from the corporate takeover that’s looming and will be transitioning all year, as well as my last school year/grad school application process haha.

Oh, and I can actually read heavier books lol. It’s just the chick lit is so damn addicting.

I agree that we should start a book club– but where on earth do we start? lol.
Heavier books (and I’m not only talking about weight here) sit on my bookshelves too, but lately I find I’m drawn more to Chick Lit and the fluffy stuff. But oddly enough, I can’t bring myself to get into the Shopaholic series. To me, reading about shopping is absurd since I’d rather be doing the shopping
